20th Century at War, Mobile Interactive Military Museum exhibit, featuring World War ll, will camp in Kerr's Grove the entire weekend.

The 2011 Ypsilanti Heritage Festival
"A Sentimental Journey" Ypsilanti 1940-1949

This multi-service, hands on, display will cover the history of World War ll with men and women in authentic uniform to tell the story.

Imagine the command post and tent camp with soldiers listening to 1940's broadcast on the radio, passing the time with a checker game. Flanking the command post is an assortment of military vehicles.

Inside the large Army tent are displays covering all the major milestones of World War ll history. It includes uniforms, weapons, and gear of the brave men and women that served in World War ll and those back home supporting them.

Rosie the Riveter will be there to answer questions and tell stories about what she did while working at the Bomber Plant assembling B-24 bomber planes. Chat with a Private wearing his dress uniform or meet a Navy W.A.V.E. (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) and find out what her assignment was during the war.

You will not find any "velvet ropes" that keep the visitors from the artifacts. You are invited to touch and explore history. You can climb up and take a seat in a M3 Halftrack Personnel Carrier "Liberty", wrap your hands around the grips of an anti-aircraft gun or crawl into a soldier's pup tent.
